In construction, it is often the smaller details that have the biggest impact.A missed document, incomplete inspection, forgotten client selection or unchecked handover item can quickly lead to delays, rework, extra cost or frustration for your team and clients.Checklists help create consistency across your projects by giving everyone a clear process to follow. They reduce reliance on memory, make responsibilities visible and provide a record of what has been completed. They are especially valuable for businesses with multiple project managers, site managers, contractors or office staff, where the same process needs to be followed across every project.
Our new Checklists feature gives building teams a more flexible way to manage repeatable processes, project requirements and day-to-day tasks, all directly within Rave Build.
Whether you’re managing pre-construction requirements, site inspections, handovers, quality checks or internal processes, Checklists make it easier to create structure, assign responsibility and keep track of what still needs to be done.
In construction, it is often the smaller details that have the biggest impact.
A missed document, incomplete inspection, forgotten client selection or unchecked handover item can quickly lead to delays, rework, extra cost or frustration for your team and clients.
Checklists help create consistency across your projects by giving everyone a clear process to follow. They reduce reliance on memory, make responsibilities visible and provide a record of what has been completed.
They are especially valuable for businesses with multiple project managers, site managers, contractors or office staff, where the same process needs to be followed across every project.
Because every stage of a construction project has different requirements, Rave Build Checklists can be used across the entire project lifecycle.
Use these to make sure everything is ready before work begins.
This could include:
A structured pre-construction checklist helps reduce the chance of a project starting before important information or approvals are in place.
Site checklists are useful for managing repeatable checks throughout the build.
For example:
These help teams maintain consistency and provide greater visibility over work completed on site.
Quality checklists can be used at key stages to make sure work meets your business standards before the project moves forward.
You might include checks around:
They can also help identify issues earlier, reducing the likelihood of costly rework later.
Keep track of the many decisions clients need to make throughout a build.
For example:
This gives your team a simple way to see what has been confirmed and what is still outstanding.
Handover involves a large number of final tasks, and having a consistent process can make a big difference to the client experience.
A handover checklist could include:
This helps ensure nothing is missed before the project is officially completed.
Checklists can also continue beyond handover.
Use them for:
This helps your team maintain a consistent process even after the build is complete.
Checklists do not have to be limited to site activity.
They can also be used for internal workflows such as:
This gives your business the ability to standardise important internal processes as well as construction activity.
Create customised checklists to suit the way your business works, then add individual To-Dos underneath each checklist.
For every To-Do, you can set key information including:
This gives your team a clear, consistent process while still allowing individual projects to be managed flexibly.
For processes you use again and again, Checklist Templates allow you to build your structure once and reuse it across projects.
Templates show the checklist name, number of checklists, number of To-Dos and the date they were created.
You can also set a template as Default, meaning it will automatically load onto all newly created projects.
Depending on your permissions, you can view, edit, export or delete existing templates. When editing a template, you can also reorder checklists, add or remove To-Dos, update colours, change assignees and adjust task details.
Templates are particularly useful for standardising the way your business runs projects while still allowing project-specific changes when needed.
Not every business manages tasks the same way, so Rave Build now lets you customise the statuses used within Checklists.
Users with the Branch Settings – Checklist Settings permission can manage Checklist Status Groups, including:
This allows each branch to create status workflows that make sense for their own processes.
Checklist notifications can be managed at both the user profile and project level, giving teams greater control over which updates they receive.
It’s important to note that project Checklist Notifications must also be enabled for notifications to be sent, even when a user has checklist notifications switched on within their profile.
For larger teams, administrators can also bulk update Checklist notification settings, selecting multiple checklists and users before applying the required notification preferences in one go.
Checklists also bring To-Dos together in easy-to-manage views, including:
All To-Dos — see outstanding checklist work across the project.
My To-Dos — quickly focus on the tasks assigned specifically to you.
This makes it easier for everyone involved in a project to understand what they are responsible for and what needs attention next.
The new Checklist experience has also been improved for mobile users, making it easier for teams working on site to complete To-Dos, add comments, upload images and update progress without needing to return to the office.
That means project information can be updated closer to where the work is actually happening.
Checklists are designed to help construction teams create consistent processes without adding unnecessary admin.
From pre-construction and site checks through to handover, maintenance and internal workflows, Checklists give your team a reliable way to make sure important steps are completed every time.
With reusable templates, customised statuses, assigned To-Dos, photos, comments and notifications, Rave Build gives you one central place to manage the smaller tasks that keep your projects moving.
It’s another step towards making Rave Build an even more complete platform for managing your projects, people and processes from start to finish.
