Our favourite Rave feature is the budgeting tool, which allows us to easily track costs for our clients. We also love sending them live charge-up reports that show the current status of each section of the build. Radical Renovation
Amy and Jono Sharrock spent nearly four years meticulously planning their dream renovation in Mount Maunganui with Coast NZ Construction. Initially, they thought their Valley Rd home needed just a few tweaks, but with a newborn and two young children, the upside-down layout with living spaces upstairs and bedrooms downstairs wasn’t working. After years of discussion, they realized a radical renovation was needed. Coast NZ, alongside Dylan from Coalesce Architecture, helped them completely flip the house, ensuring the design worked within their budget and needs.
Smooth Communication
Construction began in August 2023 after the family moved into a rental. Amy praised Coast NZ’s communication, noting that while surprises in renovations are inevitable, Jimmy Dow handled them head-on with open conversations. The technical nature of the job, propping up a two-story house while installing a new subfloor and framing, required innovative thinking and problem-solving from the team, something Jimmy and his crew excelled at.
Playroom & Personal Touches
The couple added a master suite on the ground floor and turned an oversized landing upstairs into a play area for the kids. They were thrilled with the design decisions, including keeping the stained glass from the original door and recycling the Tawa wood floors. Amy appreciated the team’s attention to detail, especially when Charlie Dow advised swapping out too-small bathroom mirrors, ensuring everything was perfect.
A Bright Future
Amy and Jono moved back in May and are now enjoying the new layout. The kitchen has become the hub of the home, and the sun-filled deck is a favorite family spot. Coast NZ’s expertise in renovations made all the difference, and Amy highly recommends them, having already referred them to her aunt. The team’s professionalism, reliability, and friendly nature made the project a success, and the family couldn’t be happier.
